like Angie say, try asking your dr about metformin, I am 20 also with pcos and I was having unprotected sex from high school (4 years)and still haven't conceive as yet, I to have facail hair, ireguler periods and cycts, I was put on Metformin August 31 and had 2 reguler cycles of 29 days, this month I am late hoping its pregnancy time, but you being on birth control is just like you wearing a face mask as soon as you take it of your ugly again so wat I'm trying to say is as soon as you get of the birth control those symptoms would be rigt back like the ireguler cycles, I did birthcontrol to for 6 months and after I was of my cycle went back wack, try asking your dr for metformin if you want to you can add me as your contact buddy

Well you aren't going to conceive at all if you are taking birth control.

I have PCOS. More than likely you will be able to conceive. It's possible to do it without drugs, but much less probable. If you have PCOS you are either ovulating infrequently and sporadically or not at all. In my case I get my period every 2-3 months, so if I'm ovulating at all I'm only doing it once in a 2 -3 months; so my chances are lower, simply cause I don't do it as often.

It's impossible to say how long it could take. It COULD happen at any time, it could take a year it could take three years. It depends on what methods you are trying. If you're going au natural, your chances are slimmier and it will probaby take a long time. If you are seeing an infertility specialist, probably within a year.

My doctor tried to me on birth control pills for 3 months to see if it would help with my periods, cyst and hair growth, but of course it did not work. So I would not want you to take pills for nothing. Ask him to try something else like metformin. I don't want to tell you how long I have been trying to conceive because it will depress you. Good Luck

wanna_B_mommy' s tips:

*The day you start your period is day one your cycle
*Have sex days 12 14 16 18 and 20
*After sex lay down with a pillow under your pelvis for at least 30 minutes
*If all possible have sex or right before bed so you are laying down all night
*Try to stay stress free (I know it's hard but it really helps)
*Start taking prenatal vitamins now!

goodluck
