Not as trite as Jesus or Elvis, but....
Lee Kuan Yew - Singapore:
Great political, social, and economic leader that ruled with an even discipline. Lee set an example for the world, but the world has yet to pay much attention aside from critical. Lee is still a powerful mind in international government and economics today.
Lee is who I like today if for nothing than a benchmark to fix our capitalist mess here in the US.

Jesus had the most impact AFTER he died. During his life he led 12 men and an assorted group of followers.
Unfortunately, the man who most impacted the world in a leadership role was Adolph Hitler. His actions affected all of Europe, North America, North Africa, parts of the Middle East, and Japan. There has been no one else who impacted such a wide area to such an extent in his own lifetime.

Every country would have to answer that for their own. For the US, I'd say George Washington. As our first President, he set the precedent for all future leaders and how they should conduct themselves.
