My coworker is fat and lazy. I do about twice the work as him and sometimes I have to finish his work for him. He walks around and socializes most of the day while I get run ragged. Most of the work gets delegated to me in the first place because they know he will either f*ck it up or not finish it as quickly... or at all. I don't make much more money than this person. Should I complain? My main reason for not complaining is that his wife is pregnant with their first child and I feel bad. She recently quit her job too so he is the only bread-winner. I think that he is probably on the verge of being fired already and me complaining might push it over the edge.

What would you do in this situation?

Well I don't think he realizes that he does way less. He was just telling me how he deserves a raise for all the work he does. He's just clueless. A very nice person but a tard!

Yes! Complain. Speak to your supervisor about this & talk to your human resources personnel about this situation your in. Its disturbing and unfair for you. Be professional when speaking to them in this complaint conversation regarding his poor work performance.

Remember business is business, and work is work. You should not let his personal lifestyle get in the way of work. We all have personal problems far worse than what he has, it's just the way how we manage/handle it. So don't feel sorry for this person getting fired from his job he always can receive unemployment checks or even look for another job.

Don't do his work. Just do your own work with extra time organize your files a little better, make it neater, nicer or dust clean your desk area, & look busy.

Why should you feel bad when he obviously doesn't giving you all that work? Talk to him, or talk to the boss.

Edit: Well, I know it can be hard. But its still not fair on you. I say talk to him, tell him how you feel, or otherwise, have a private chat with the boss. And I agree with the person below, business is business.

id just stop doing his work for him, then let the company deal with him. your not gettin paid twice so why do twice the work.
