If what Scott McClellan said in his new book is found to be true -- that the President intentionally lied to the public about the outing of Valerie Plame -- what consequences should Bush face?

just to clarify --
outing valeria plame was a felony. lying to cover that up is also a felony, even if not under oath.
wasnt the whole reason the GOP got so upset with bills "is is" lie, was because that untruth was an attack on rule of law?

He should face impeachment. Once that is out of the way they should open up a full investigation in to his actions, deception, secrecy, and criminal activities to protect special interest groups who he protected by abusing his presidential powers. War crimes as well perhaps? Either way, he should be put away.

And if what is written in books convicts a person then the Clintons would be locked away and never see the light of day again. The Plame incident is no more than a set up, and a bumbling one at that! The ones who really did the ratting came out clean! As for the president lying who in the world could keep straight what actually happened with all the misfacts presented in the case?

Punished for what? Valerie Plame was not a covert agent on assignment overseas within the five years previous to her 2003 outing. No crime was committed. Libby was convicted for lying and obstructing an investigation into a non-crime. He may have lied about an incident that was not a crime. Sounds very much like the same thing the previous president did too doesn't it?

NO! The rest of them lying in the case including the Plames came out unscathed so why should President Bush take the fall in this farce?

He should face impeachment and prison for his violation of Constitution and as such his oath of office, the lying and could be considered as treason for the leak of classified info.
Doesn't matter though....he would just pardon himself and Congress doesn't have the backbone to even try for an impeachment that he could not pardon.
Dan O> Um..NO. Clinton got impeached by House for getting a BJ....Bush has suspended Habeas Corpus and violated the public's Bill of Rights...and so far is totally free+clear....so a "raw deal"..hardly try a Sweet deal with a golden spoon stuck up his ******

We should rise as one and slay him... No just kidding. We should waste more tax dollars prosecuting him so that he can be found not guilty. We have the best justice system that money can buy. Unfortunately if you are not wealthy then you will not have justice served.
