I doubt they'd get much for Griffey, but Dunn could land them some of the pitching they desperately need.
He obviously drives us nuts sometimes with the strikeouts, but those Ks haven't stopped him from being top-20 among active players in reaching base (.381 career OBP). Along with his power, that ability to take a walk makes him a very valuable commodity for any team in need of power. I'd like the Reds to keep him, but I believe he'll soon be priced out of their range. To avoid losing him for nothing, they should try to move him for some excellent, young and cheap starting pitching.

Since the Reds are probably destined to finish near the bottom of the NL Central with the Pirates regardless if they have Dunn and Griffey, they should explore all trades involving the two. It has been known that Atlanta is interested in Junior, since they need a CF to replace Andruw Jones until Brandon Jones (no relation to Andruw) is major league ready. Griffey would jump at the chance to play for a contender and the Braves are loaded with prospects. Dunn on the other hand, would probably command more from an AL team due to his DH prospects. I say make the best deal you can for both.

Right now, the only reason people come to Great American SMALLpark is to watch Dunn and Griffey hit homeruns! They know the team is going to lose because of the bullpen, so they leave after the heart of the order has their last at-bat and beats the traffic home!
You're not going to get decent pitching for the same reason - the park is just too dang small. A pop-up to the shortstop goes for a 3-run dinger and all of a sudden the game's out of reach! The last time they tried trading for a pitcher, they gave up a decent hitter and ended up with a junk pitcher with a blown out arm that no one bothered to check out before approving the trade and got stuck with him. So not only are they inept on the field, but they are a joke in the front office, too!
They have the offense. They have the defense. They have the pitching. They just have to get all 3 to show up at the same games at the same times for a change to make a difference!

I would hate to see Dunn gone but maybe they should get rid of griffey. I am a reds fan since the early 70's and loved watching his dad ken sr play. I hate it that everyone they get is good till the reds get them and then they stay hurt. if they trade griffey he would hit 80 home runs the next year and win the mvp. just how my luck always goes.

Dunn is still fairly young, so I would keep him. If you can trade Griffey for some high end pitching prospects, I would pull the trigger. There are several teams that can use his bat, and a move to the AL would best suit him.

The Reds have it tough. They should trade them, but there is no way that they can get any pitching or young talent for either. Griffey is getting old and Dunn strikes out way too much for any team to want to use him as their power bat.
Maybe they should send Dunn to Baltimore. jk ;-)

The reds have some pitching in there system, but I still trade Dunn. He'll never fit into the system of contact hitters and a good defensive club that they haft to have if there going to win.

I think they should but neither have much value. Griff is old and always hurt. Dunn is powerful but can't hit for a .270 average. They need pitching and neither are going to score quality pitching. They have to stand pat and take thier licks for doing what they've done to themselves. It's just really a sad story over there.

should have traded Junior when he had some value left in him... now he is like a Barry Larkin... destined to stay with the Reds until he retires unless the Reds show him the door...
