A train whistle in the distance is so soothing to me as I remember it bringing my 2 brothers home from WW2.
The war was over at last & Mother & I where so happy to have my brothers back at last. God Blessed Us & America.

There are several:
- My god-children's laughter.
- Cello and/or Sitar solos.
- The breathing from someone I love, lying beside me.
- Rain or the sounds from the ocean, while sitting or lying on the sand at night.
- Karma's (my dog) sweet, little whimpers when she wants something.
- The soft wind of an autumn day in the country.
- "That" person's voice.

When my honey whispers sweet things to me in his smooth southern voice.
Other than that -- certain songs I like with a cello accompaniment -- it sounds soft, beautiful, soothing and sort of sad all at the same time.

Oddly enough, the sound of my husbands snoring. I have the most terrible time trying to sleep without it. It is comforting knowing that he is right there. And if he gets too loud, I can always nudge him a little and get him to quiet down lol.
