I took a test when I was about 18 or 19 and wanted to join the service. The results from that test placed me in the top 10 percent, top 6 percent of the country.....I get nearly the same results today when I take an online IQ test.
According to the online test, my iq is 136....I am not a "genious," but I'm not too shabby.....

IQ = 100. all IQ test have a benchmark of 100. one hundred is the average for all to measure.
half will be above 100/half below 100.
Note IQ does NOT test if you are lazy or sloppy. all IQ test @100 is test your ability to reason /logic /gather evidence
IQ test is like the 100 Meter dash. how fast can you run. how well do you do on an IQ test. 100.

Years ago during a bad and odd case of meningitis I had to go through one. I was going through all kinds of tests, blood tests, etc to see if it effected my mind any. Got a result of 146.
edit: many are confused and think IQ means smarts. actually it means thinking outside the box and problem solving abilities. a doctor who has 3 degrees can have a 112 IQ and a garbage man who never finished high school can have a 150.

My last actual IQ test received a rating of 176 i have been submitted by my parents to take many such tests and find them to vary most are rated by level of education and age to come up with the rating however scoring high on the test does not make you any more intelligent than you were before the test. I was forced to go to higher grade levels with older children who treated me as if i were some sort of odd ball intelligence should not be allowed to cause a child to be isolated from their peers i hated it and just wanted to be with my friends

ya, you're absolutely correct. a real iq test is nothing like these online quizzes. the real thing takes concentration and is almost always timed. better know your stuff because skipped questions are subtracted and the time pressure can be frustrating as you well know. i don't know if public schools give iq tests anymore, probably against the law, now days everything related to school is illegal.

I've taken real IQ tests and online ones. The results were roughly the same +/-2 points. 137 worst, 141 best (must have eaten fish that day).

I've taken two real IQ tests...one when I was about 12 and another when I was about 16.
They're more involved than the online ones.
And no I'm not telling the results :-p

I took one a long time ago in third grade. It was a 4 hour long test at a shrinks office.
Funny story, i only went in to get my IQ tested, but i came out of that test with a score and a prescription to adderall.

My IQ was about 120 I think? But based on some of the questions I have seen, there may not be many high IQ's around!
