The Princess Diaries series and The Sisthood of the Travelling Pants are both good series.
One of my favorite authors is Joan Bauer, with "Thwonk" and "Squashed" as the best.
Scott Westerfeld's "Uglies," "Pretties," and "Specials" are awesome. I've not read "Peeps" yet, but have heard good things.
If you like DARK books Darren Shan's Cirque du Freak series is better than many adult supernatual thrillers.
Randa Abdel-Fattah's book "Does My Head Look Big In This?" is an amazing book about a teen who decides to wear the Muslim head scarf, full-time as a badge of her faith--without losing her identity or sense of style.
John Green's "An Abundance of Katherines" is a from a guy's point of view. Colin sets off on a road trip with his best friend after being dumped by his 19th girlfriend named Katherine.
