why can't I get better internet service from att?

i presently have att dialup and desire much better connection

IF you wish to use ATT for a faster connection ask them about their DSL service. Call their 800 number or go their website www.att.com to explore the possibilities.

If you can get AT&T you can likely get Covad. Go Covad.

At any rate, investigate all others in your area. AT&T should be your last choice. I can't judge for your area, as it differs place by place.
