would depend on how accurate the date she gave her doctor and other considerations....a due date is an approximate date. I was 11 days late with both kids based on the information the doctor used to give me a due date

The thing about estimating due dates is that the average gestation period is based on assuming a woman has a 28 day cycle and ovulates on day 14. Since all women and every pregnancy is different, it is impossible to know exactly when a baby will be born. There are too many variables. Just as many people will tell you that first babies usually come early as people who say that first babies usually come late. I have had 4 babies and each was born past their due date. My mom had 3 babies and each was born before their due date. It is just impossible to even guess when labor will begin. Her doctor likely is saying anytime for labor to begin as she is past 37 weeks and anytime between 37-42 weeks a pregnancy can be considered at term. My first baby was born 9 days past the due date my doctor gave me. It is really hard to wait for the blessed event and as the due date approaches it is normal to wonder and be anxious for things to start happening, but that baby will come along as soon as your sister-in-law's body and her baby are ready for it.

I have talked to many woman about their due dates for their first child. I was a week late for my first one. And so many women are as well, but it all depends on when the little one wants to come out and is ready to come out. If she were to give birth early, the baby wouldn't be too affected due to the baby is already pretty much done growing. It's just spending time for the last bit in the little swimming pool of mums belly! Good Luck!

It all depends on the baby. I am not even sure that the Doctor knows. With my first I was 3 weeks early and he still weighed 7 and 1/2 pounds, my second was 2 weeks late and weighed 7 lb 11 oz and my third was almost 3 weeks late and weighed 8 lbs 8 oz So as you can see even before the baby is born, it is calling the shots. Good Luck to your sister-in-law. Babies are such a blessing.

Yep, most first time mommies have their first babies a little after the due date, but everyone is different. That's just in most cases. If she has had a regular pregnancy with no complications then I would say she will probably have the baby a week after her due date. That's just my guess :)

if the doctors are saying its possible then it is....she is only two weeks off of her due date and with that only being an estimate (give or take two weeks on either side) then she can go any time in the next month, up till dec 16, at which time they would probably induce her.
Congrats on becoming an aunty!
