His appeal has a lot to do with him choosing not to fall into the usual narcissism that so many do. He's settled with a wife and children which keep him grounded. Yes, I realize he's not officially married, but he's been with the same woman for years.
He's not prone to partying or taking himself or his celebrity seriously, that's a very rare quality few have. His acting ability just stand out.

Oh sure, he's drop dead gorgeous, has incredible talent and is filthy rich. But besides all that, what does he really have going for him?
No doubt the lucky SOB can part his hair with his tongue too.

It's his outward appearance..but also the fact that he seems very "self-aware" and just doesn't take himself too seriously.
He does what he wants to do no matter what others may think of him.
