The body takes food and converts it to basic chemicals, these chemicals fuel the cells of our body. The main fuel of our body is glucose (a basic sugar) (I m keeping things simple here) but basically the mitocondria in our cells convert oxygen and different forms of glucose into chemical energy to enable our bodies to do all the things that they do.

example:glucose broken doen during respiration to units of energy called ATP.this is then used to supply our cells with enough energy to function basicly
