Is it illegal to post false reviews on Amazon?

Or any other review site for that matter? I just don't see what's stopping people from posting good reviews on their own products over and over again.

It would be considered fraud for a seller to post as an impartial review something that was not.

A review is an opinion - so how can it be true or false? It just is.

Check the TOS of the site to see what they allow and what they don't.
