Well let me see I'm a mom of 4 grown kids that are married and I'm a very clean and neat freak. A can't even stand the rug to be out of place. But, I know my kids seem not to really care how they live pretty much. But I will call ahead of time to let them know I'm coming and for some odd reason they at least tidy up. I have never expressed my concern about how they live because when they where at home I wanted my house clean at all time and I always said when your have your own house you can live the way you want but while you live at home it's going to be keep clean. And I respect and stand at my word. some day they will want have there house more comfortable to my standards, but who know maybe they are comfortable the way it is.

Your question raises some questions.
Why do your parents have to ask you to clean up the house?
What do you have against cleaning up the house?
Are you living in your parents home?
I agree with above: If you beat them to it (clean up first) then you won't have to hear them ask you to do it!

Keep area you sleep in nice & clean and do chores with out them having to ask you is the only way to stop them for yelling at you.

Do it. Then, to keep it clean, pick up your things and put them away every day before you go to bed. (I take about 15-30 minutes daily to do this.)

well, clean it up or move, two great options that seem to escape most kids, lol, and move than a few adults.

You must be a slob. If you live there, you have to help keep it clean. Just do it.
