I did a term paper on this once. It was an ok paper. Anyways, some common Thanksgiving traditions:
Watching the football game before dinner
Sitting around the table talking about what they are thankful for
Going on a walk after dinner
Going to a movie after dinner
Putting up Christmas Decorations after dinner
Going to be early so as to go Black Friday shopping
GOING black friday shopping
Eatin Turkey Gravy sandwiches on Friday
Eating Chinese take-out instead of a turkey
And one I recently found out about: Playing board games after dinner until midnight. (I think this is my favorite one)

Spend the morning smelling turkey in the oven and asking, "How long before we eat?" Give thanks, pig out, clean up as we go so there's not a big mess, start watching a movie then fall asleep during it. (We don't watch football at my house.) Wake up, have a turkey sandwich and finish watching the movie. We don't live anywhere near family or friends, so it's just me and the missus. And I travel a lot, so for us, it's mostly a quiet day when we can just really enjoy being together.
