I have no love/sex life whatsoever and the truth is I feel like I simply exist and not live. I get the blues a lot and I don't feel motivated to do things. Could this be because of my poor love life? What problems does absence of it cause? Can it lead to depression?

Well spice it up a bit then.

Definitely seek your interests because that is where your friends and others who seek companionship are. Start by making a list and if you have too many interests tape the list to the wall and throw a dart. What ever it lands on that's where ya start.

Are you creative - the list is endless.
Are you active(ballroom group class), love nature, like to read (book club), art, gardening, photography class....start exploring. Take a beginners yoga class...helps with stress and focus as well.

Have dinner parties and keep ties with your family. So, now you'll need an address book - their cheap.

I have felt that way in to past. Now I realize that it isn't the absence that causes depression but thoughts about the absence. One could also take this opportunity to get to know oneself better, improve upon oneself, and build the life one wants from a higher point of view. It's all in how you want to perceive the absence. God is never absent. Soul exists because God loves It. Dare to love yourself too!

Yes and No.

Your lack of libido leads to depression, which can decrease your libido even more, which leads to depression...etc.

A low libido can be caused by any number of medical or psychological problems.

What I can help with is a suggestion to go out and become involved in the community. Volunteer at your church, a local shelter, hospital, etc. Join a (co-ed) sports league! make friends, and become re-involved and you will find that the problem may just go away without chemical help!

I am alone, as well. I feel lonesome and sad from time to time.
Depression comes with hopelessness. If there is a way for you to be around people and have a chance at meeting someone, you owe it to yourself to try that. With hope, you will present yourself as having a more positive outlook. Be patient. At least, you are trying.
C. :)!!
