I'm 14 and a virgin.I don't need a pelvic exam,I just want to be prepared

not always. there are different kinds of hymens. some break just by putting in a tampon, or playing heavy sports. others can got through years of intercourse, having children, and other activities and never break. you can ask a gynecologist to see whether your hymen is still intact.

Not usually. And girls do have examinations before they are sexually active, and there is a reason. You might have a yeast infection or a bladder infection, and they do those exams then. But having a broken hymen doesn't mean you're not still a virgin. Whether or not you have had sex is the only qualifier for that.
Can you talk to you mother or another adult you know about this? That would be better than talking to strangers on the internet.

No, they can work around it. Assuming the girl still has an intact one, that is, because they tend to get broken early from other things besides pelvic exams or sex.

as far as I know the doctor didn't do a pap smear on you unless you are sexually active..because there is no reason to give you a pap smear test..I never had a pap smear when I was still a virgin.but maybe it's different in other places

Yes it can because that is how the doctor is able to see inside your vagina. He or she can't see inside you until they bust the hyem.
