Every day I wake up turn on the computer or T.V. to find out what's going on in the world. Almost every day I see some one has put another restrictions on our life. Hell, now Sesame Street is under fire, jeez people stop putting fault in every one else's hands. If you think it's a show you don't want your children to watch don't let them. I don't allow my kids to watch cartoon network or Nickelodeon, but this is America you have choices I'm not going to force the law makers to ban those show I don't like I just turn the channel. If I don't like what some one said I either give my opinion or don't listen, Again this is a free country we have a choice, use the choice and stop taking civil liberties from every one else. The Pilgrims came here to take control of their religion, not take religion out of their lives. They came here so that every one here could believe what they thought was right, not what they where told to believe. Now if I believe differently than you do let me do that, Please.

I think a few people misunderstude what I said. I do believe that their should be rules and laws. I don't think that should include some choices. To harm or intend to harm, I believe hole heatedly sould not be a choice. If I'm harming you by watching a T.V. show or what friends I have, then don't look, or listen. Some people today think that only what they think is right, is right. Their very wrong there is always more than one truth.

It's a result of something called "political correctness." It was put into place to make people more tolerant and sensitive to others who may be offended by the slightest little thing. It's in reality a way to restrict freedom of speech. Now it's grown into a monster.
Banning things people object to is part of the liberal way. It's actually Marxist and it's been taking over this country very slowly for the past 50 or so years.
We can push back on it, but we have to recognize it when we see it. For example, if 90% of the people in this country like to say "Merry Christmas" but 5% are offended by those words, the politically correct answer is to ban people from saying it for the sake of the minority who are offended by it. That's total BS and we need to stop organizations like the ACLU from removing all our freedoms before they are all gone and we can't say anything.
I've seen people look around before they say certain words because of the fear of offending a passerby. This is exactly how people were in soviet Russia at one time. Let's not let the same thing happen to this country, ok?

I don't want any restrictions brought upon me! Now the thing you said about 'not letting your children watch this or that, i do not believe in that at all. I don't agree that anyone should be ruled over. It is all the establishment etc that put these bullshit ideas into Americas heads, and they feed that to them non stop. There is no right or wrong only popular opinions. They take one opinion and they agree if it's good or not. Then they expect you to live by that until you die. No one is allowed to have their own thoughts, feelings, or opinions. So that the man can brainwash you into believing that one single thought, then another, then another until your heads full of them. And if America does have so called 'choices' why restrict the choices? For what so they can say "Sure you can choose that, but only if it's okay by us." Face it America's 'Pledge of Allegiance' is bullshit, and i am not a anti American person. I'm just stating my facts.

Some people believe that government is the solution to all of our problems. They think that by giving government more and more power to control our lives, problems like crime, terrorism, poverty & c can be solved.
Conservatives like me, know that most of our problems are the result of government ignoring the restraints of the Constitution. The American people have let our politicians usurp powers that are supposed to be reserved for the states, or the individual. That is why we are losing our freedom.
That's why I am voting for Ron Paul. Dr. Paul is the only candidate who will work to restore Constitutional government. He will change our foreign policy to one of friendship and trade, rather than one of beligerance. When we are no longer threatening and occupying foreign lands, we will not be subject to terrorist attacks.
Dr. Paul will repeal the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, the National ID card, and the rest of the Nazi-like "anti-terrorism" measures. Naturally, Ron Paul is against torture.
Ron Paul will give us honest money that does not inflate. The Constitution specifies gold and silver for money. He will get rid of the Federal Reserve. With all of the savings realized by reducing the federal government to it's Constitutionally authorized functions, there will be no need to an income tax. Bye bye IRS!
It's up to us to spread the message of FREEDOM. The alternative is more undeclared wars around the globe and tyranny at home.
RON PAUL in 2008.

Some of us believe that you have to have more rules and restrictions because so many people now want to do what they want to do without thinking about how it affects others. The television stations will put on whatever programming they want and then it will be so bad that most of us won't be able to let our kids watch t.v. at all because the content will be so offensive. Because everyone has choices, some are going to do things that are offensive or hurtful to others, without caring about the consequences.

What a truly wonderful question. So relevant to what's going on in our world. Thanks for asking it.
I agree with you for the most part; but will have to take exception, in the sense that no one can have total freedom: there is no such thing, unless you happen to be a dictator of some small insignificant country; otherwise, "freedom" would become "anarchy".
Some humans are overly aggressive, and attempt to force their will upon others; there has to be restrictions on such people. Agree?
I think one reason for our overly-regulated society, is one of the exercisation of power: any and every sector of control in our culuture, wants to get into the act, simply to be a player; and wield whatever power society has relegated to them.
Examples: the judiciary, at any and all levels. We have the most litigious culture in history. One judge will declare this; an appellate branch will reverse his decision, and so on up the judicial ladder.
The Civil Liberties Union: they step in, in cases that are so absurd and ridciulous, it's laughable. Even though in a few instances, their intervention may prove to be ultimatelly benefitial to society at large, in most instances in my opinion, their effort only serves the purpose to justfify their existence and the money it takes to pursue a given cause.
Sorry, I didn't mean to go on and on like this; enought already.

Parents don't want to raise their own kids cause they are lazy, and people want everything to be equal and fair all the time. I don't understand that mentality, but its becoming ever more prevelant

I don't think it's an issue about more laws and restrictions. I think as time changes, so does society's views on what is criminal and what is acceptable behavior.
