No I blatantly and apathetically believe what I see like all the players in this incredibly self indulgent life because of how what I see is selfishly constructed and presented - So much so that at a quick glance at something what I expect to see actually overwrites the picture of what is objectively there to be seen; most likely based on previously mentioned intrinsically selfish and self assured incompetent brain assembling an image of what it projects most likely could be there.

We are living in a world of lies pulled over our own eyes

I am not alone in this, just aware on a deeper level that I see what I believe.

The paradox in your question comes from an over-entanglement between perception and interpretation.

If a straw is sitting in a glass of water, the straw appears to be bent. This is what you see. Belief is not necessary; it is an indisputable fact. Those who doubt even the information arriving through their senses cannot hope to interact with the world in any appreciable way.

The point where doubt arises is in how you INTERPRET this information. You SEE a bent straw... does it mean the straw IS bent? It doesn't take many optical illusions, mirages, and stage performers to convince most of us that seeming is not the same as being.

Do not blame what you see. You saw it; believe it. The fault can only lie in your understanding of what those sights MEAN. And meaning can be a fleeting thing to grab on to even in the best of times.

Yes...I do have trouble believing what my eyes just saw. When this happens, I remind myself that I get to choose my own standards of behavior but dont get to choose them for another adult. In this way, I live in peace.
