Tell them exactly how you feel about it. If the dear friend really cares for you they will stop the silly upsetting behavior.

I relegate them from being a dear friend to just an aquaintance. Dear friends don't play silly games with each other - that's the point of being a dear friend to see you through things like that not instigate it.

If a dear friend troubles me, i will try my level best to tolerate that. Because a person is troubling someone means he or she is emotionally not in a position to understand the feelings of others. So i will not hate that friend. I will try my level best to help him or her. But i am also a human so one day i will also walk away if it crosses the limit.

It drives me crazy! My hubby does that crap to me and the last time he did it I was crying and hysterical and hopefully he will never do it again! he had a friend call me at home and pretend to be a cop and they said my husband had been arrested for armed robbery of a gas station! I was needed down at the police station! I cried the entire time getting dressed and out to the car and there he was in the driveway with his friend and laughing cuz i fell for it! That was soooo horable! I still have not forgiven him!

I would wonder wether I should consider them a dear friend and if I came to the conclusion that I still wanted a friendship with them, then I would tell them that I would not like them to treat me like that any more. If they did not stop, I would find another dear friend that appreciated my friendship.

I will definitely be sad for some time if I am not at fault. However, I would cross by and leave him/her behind and continue with the same pace of progress, for he or she is zealous with.
