No, but accompanying factual knowledge about the painter or sculptor's existence usually adds to my ability to enjoy that work of art. Good museums usually have that information on hand, and that information is usually reliable and well-researched. On the other hand, the Bible isn't a factual account of Creation. It's a book of unsupported religious opinions. Logical fallacy you've just committed: Argument from Beauty If you have a logical argument supporting the notion that great art points to the existence of God, I'd like to hear it. It is certainly isn't a self-evident proposition. Come to think of it, I've never heard anything beyond supposition where Argument from Beauty is concerned.

Personally, I feel modeling for the sculpture probably left the poor blighter shrunken with cold and a true need for a warm, um, never mind.

I've never actually noticed the "thing" on the statue you're originally talking about.
