It is, as long as you keep chasing it... maybe we are not able to reach it, but it certainly help us to improve :D

If perfection is just a benchmark then it can be a good motivator. If it's a criteria for doing anything then it's "perfectionism" and discourages any action at all.

It's related to a larger issue. I think that there is a point because I think that life has a meaning outside of myself, I believe in God. If there is no God, then there probably is no point.

Yes it is an endless cycle, as it should be. The point of pursuing perfection is not to achieve it, but to reap the benefits that are gained by the struggle.

If we instead seek to constantly improve ourselves, our knowledge, and our world, then there's always room for improvement. Perfection as a final, static state is a flawed notion.

You should read Emil Cioran (a talented romanian philosopher..). And you'll understand why life has a deeper meaning because it is followed by death. The point for improving is because everyone wants to die knowing that he/she lived his/her live in an extraordinary way.

i would say there is a point, and i dont think of it as a cycle, but as a path i go down, hills i climb, valleys i go threw etc etc all on the journey i call life
the point for me is to be living this life i have, not just existing in it
