The factory uses Mitsubishi SP III Automatic Transmission Fluid. Don't use anything else. If you're filling the system because of a leak and the system was drained the factory recommended procedure for bleeding the air out is to raise the front tires and turn the steering wheel lock to lock while cranking the engine over with the crankshaft sensor disconnected so the engine does not start. You will have to turn the steering wheel back and forth at least 6 times. The pump noise will quite down when the air is gone. You may set a code and have to erase the code once the sensor is reconnected after the bleeding process is finished. If you try to bleed the air with the car running the fluid will foam and the pump will make noise. Normal fluid level is checked with the car off.
