liberals act as if their intellect is superior to non liberals. they understand human nature, human interaction, human potential, human frailty. they know that god does not exist and that evolutionary processes are responsible for humanity's present place on the evolutionary time scale and that it is up to humans to create the world in which they want to live. okay, i'm fine with all that. my question is, if they are as intelligent as they claim, why do they insist on defying nature and its processes by trying to force everyone to be the same when nature itself dictates extreme diversity. and, not only that, but they champion diversity with their rhetoric all the while demanding (through legislation no less) that we not see or recognize the differences in people and their various cultures. is this simply lip service? i think so...it seems to me, liberals treat minorities, the poor, the homeless and the generally downtrodden as no more than human pets.

dialecti... really nice explanation of where i am wrong in my observation. thank you. now, please explain why this 'diversity' that is so celebrated and embraced by you liberals ONLY applies to liberals and all the groups i mentioned IF THEY ARE DEMOCRATS! micheal steele, lynn swann, condoleeza rice, colin powell, just to name a few, are CONSTANTLY marginalized and dismissed by you lefties as "uncle toms" and various other condesceding terms because they are republicans...where is the celebration of their achievements? why aren't they held out front and center as the poster children of racial harmony, equality, and high ideals? you, and all the other people who accuse me of generalizing need to wake up and take a good look at yourselves and your party. as i said, it is you who treat others as pets, not me.

As Ed McMahon used to tell Johnny Carson on the tonight show, "You are correct, sir!"
Our President once made the comment about the "soft bigotry of low expectations". This is exactly what he was talking about.
Liberals have this cloyingly paternalistic attitude that the "average Joe" is too ignorant, stupid, or lazy to make the most important choices in life. Hence, government must make those choices for him... for his own good.
In effect, Liberals are saying that most people never reach the intellectual and emotional level of adulthood. We must always be treated like children.
It is exactly this lack of faith in the spirit, resourcefulness and initiative of people that is so unsettling. Our country became great because of these qualities, and Liberals act like they do not exist!

Life is a constant struggle with nature. Liberals recognize that people are all different, but as humans, since nobody can prove God, all humans have the same rights regardless of religion(constitution). That doesn't mean liberals do not believe in God, it means that before God we are all equally wise and equally foolish.

I cannot even count the number of vague, sweeping generalizations in this question. This question was written such that only another vague, sweeping generalization could answer it.
Couple points:
1 - "Liberals" tend to embrace diversity. When, however, have "they" demanded that differences go unrecognized? I think you're misinterpreting the social justice movement. The differences need to be recognized and celebrated (diversity), but the TREATMENT under the law should be equal (equality).
Seems simple enough, even though it sounds partially contradictory. But of course, this introduces a difficult issue when it comes to employment and educational opportunities, among other things. Many "liberals" recognize that this is a double-edged sword, and many other "liberals" do not. This causes disagreement among "liberals." If "conservatives" largely leave everything up to merit without regard for privilege/oppression factors, only a couple "liberals" need to abandon the diversity issue in order for legislation abolishing racial and ethnic considerations to be passed with flying colors.
2 - Anyone who claims superior intellectual ability is arrogant. You can leave it at that.

I’m liberal and no, I don’t believe in god, but most liberals ARE Christians because most people in the US believe in god.
I meet Christians who are also liberal every day, I have yet to meet in person( not over the internet) another atheist whether liberal or conservative.
Also, the last portion of your written statement is offensive.
What would you have people do with the homeless?
Let them starve?
Didn't Jesus heal the sick and feed the hungry?
I respect ALL religion, but I don’t believe that ANY religion makes you a good person

The problem is not so much liberals or conservatives the problem is that Government has no solutions to anything. Their solution is more taxes and more and more layers of Government. Name me one Government run social agency that does its job efficiently! Just one! IRS, Welfare, Medicare, Amtrak, Education, EPA go on and on they have all been a waste of "our" money. Every single one is a mess!! ITS not their money its "OURS "they waste and waste and waste. Throwing our hard earned wealth at social programs has never solved anything.

Perhaps the problem is your inability to see liberals as a diverse group of people, with diverse ideas and ideologies, rather than one uniform group who are all responsible for the actions and statements of parts of the whole even when the views come from different people.
Edit: I am sorry I am being snide, but labelism and generalizations just set me off.

Er... don't you think you're generalising a bit? I know plenty of liberals who have religious faith and plenty of conservatives who don't.
As far as I see, with the American government trying to "force" their brand of freedom on everyone, it's not the lefties who are trying to make everyone be the same. In fact, left wing people strongly believe that everyone should be free to live as they choose, as long as it doesn't harm anyone else.
I'm not quite sure how you came to this conclusion, but it isn't very well thought out.

Dude, you need help. The generalization you make are, at best, poor. Do not try out for the debate team with that one.

Why do so many people assume that all liberals are atheists? Most are not. The rest of your questions, to me, is based on similar misconceptions and stereotypes about liberals.

Its obvious you don't understand the first thing about liberals. The first thing would be that no two are alike.
