i have dsl and a belkin wireless router...

it was working fine, now when ever i visit youtube, or dl something (even a podcast) it will start downloading and then stop.

weeks ago if i was connected to the router via ethernet it would work fine... now if i'm wired OR wireless it drops. (i can view websites fine)

i've tried soft reset, master reset, factory reset. same thing.

if i connect the computer straight to the dsl line modem, it works fine - other laptops in the house have the same problem.

I'm not running any p2p stuff, i've cleared cache, cookies, restarted, rebooted everything (like i said it happens on more than 3 computers so it's not an issue on the computer)

At this point i'm thinking that i may have to buy a new router... i thought belkin was a really good brand...

any ideas?

ps thanx for reading.

That sure sounds like a router problem.
I prefer the Linksys WRT54G. Have not any problems with my 3 year old router.
$50

I also have the linksys WRT54G and it's been working great for 4 or 5 years now and there cheap so that could be an option. Before you toss this one out though I would check to see if there are any firmware updates for your router first and even if there aren't try reinstalling the version of firmware that it already has you would be amazed the amount of things that can be fixed just by doing that. It is better than any reset that you can do to the router.

Belkin is a good brand, but sometimes things just break. I would suggest testing out another router (maybe from a family member or friend) to make sure that is the problem.

Go buy this Linksis router and you won't have any further worries:

I replaced 3 others with this one and it hasn't given me a single problem. The others did what yours is doing. Bad firmware.
