It ticks really loudly when the second hand moves. It is on the wall, so whatever I try to do to it can't make a bulge on the back. I once had a small clock that did that and I taped some cotton to the back and that helped, but I can't do that with this one since it's against the wall. It is driving me crazy and I may have to get rid of it if I can't find a solution to this problem. The next wall clock I buy will not have a second hand!

I think it's just the clock, but maybe getting some sticky felt on the back? It could insulate the ticking noise. You can get sticky backed felt and cut it to fit. It's flat...

I think you need to invest in a different clock.
