Philosophy and religion are two different things...
Philosophy is the discipline concerned with questions of how one should live (ethics); what sorts of things exist and what are their essential natures (metaphysics); what counts as genuine knowledge (epistemology); and what are the correct principles of reasoning (logic).
A religion is a social institution that includes a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience.

Not really. A religion contains some extent of philosophy, and some schools of philosophy reject religion. Philosophy never dying out, because every time people need to answer the question "Who am I ?", while religion tries to answer the questions "Where am I from?" and "Where am I going to go?"

I never thought philosophy as a religious institution. Religion is a social institution, philosophy is an academic subject making finer distinctions on ideas and notions. Philosophy examines religion, but I do not see the two related in any sense beyond that.

Philosophy is religion. Just look at the defensive answers you are getting. Philosophy has traditions, dogma, canons, iconic leaders, rules, and followers. It is a club just like Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. If you don't follow the rules you will be considered a heretic or an imbecile and will be rejected just like every other religious club.

Philosophy doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with religion whatsoever. You can philosophise art, music, movies, cars, science, and many things. Theology/religion involves a philosophy, as do mahy things.
Is it dying out? Philosophy? No, Religion? depends who you ask.
Don't assume, you'll just make yourself paranoid, especially with things like that. This world has problems, and it needs help, can't you focus on something better?

you've got it backwards, religion is a primitive form of philosophy. Religion hasnt changed in 2000 years and philosophy has. Now you tell me which one is primitive and dying out

philosophy can either be intertwined with religion or completely separate.
thus being said everyone has a philosophy, you do, i do, and the rest of the world. And no matter what they try to say they can't change that. of course one can always change their philosophy as dramatically or statically as they want.
nothing is set in stone

Religion tells you the time. Philosophy analyses the concept of a clock and its relationship with the passage of existence.

YES! it pretty much is. If only Socrates and Aristotle were still around today, we could have a lot of bright minds opening up. If you're smart at all, from any culture, you've read some of these mens writing or ponderances. If not, you're almost certainly a dult.
