People were doing TONS of drugs in the 80's, especially cocaine and crack. Drinking was WAY more prevalent in the 80's I think less kids use hard drugs now, drinking is less. Pot usage is probably the same, it has been forever.

It depends what you define as "drugs". But generally speaking "no".

While kids will be kids, and always have been. marijuana use is preferred and maintains the majority of substances abused by teenagers.

The same could be said of the 80s, but back then there was less of a distinction among marijuana, coke, and heroin - all three were used in conjunction more.

Most kids today accept marijuana as casual while cocaine and heroin are out of the question. Coke and heroin use has decreased.

Probalby not more drugs, but different drugs that are more deadly. Back in the 60s, there was a lot of pot and hash, but I never even saw anything more than that. Today kids are faced with all kinds of stuff we never even heard of, and they're exposed at a much younger age. Hmm...I think I just changed my own mind. Maybe they are doing more AND different.

I think about the same in terms of drugs like marijuana, but way more prescription pills--abusing prescription pills is a relatively new phenomenon.

They're doing it less but it's so overblown right now.

Remember all the hippies? And before the DEA tried to stop marijuana and before it was as enforced as it is now.

It's just that now, it's put in a worse light.

Parents can't discipline their kids anymore so now in today's society, the kids are becoming more unruly and they have no respect to other people.
