in here, why does it say uk and Ireland only if it does not mean UK and Ireland.?I used to watch my brother on Q&A, and I got to know you all especially the one from CA who went about reporting everyone. I think that Lady was born with a microchip in her head, that kept repeating the word guidelines.
I think you know who she is, anyway we have a lot of different words to you, words that you have a different meaning for. And if we say our own words we could get reported by that yank which she has done before whereas no one would report you in the UK because they would know what the word means.

Sapphire tell me where in my post have I been calling people names.?
You are an example of what I am talking about, you could go away and report me for calling people names when I haven't
I take it you are a yank.

Hi Jim....guess Yahoo has lumped us all together...which is actually kind of fun! We're learning new words and expressions and ideas all the time. Thankfully my best friend is a Brit so some of the things are already familiar to me, but the real key thing here on this site is patience and reading (listening) with an open mind and heart. It shouldn't matter who is posting and where they're from....many of us simply word things differently. Hopefully the certain few who don't seem to get that will get off their high horse and stop the reporting and blocking. And if not, we'll just have to show them that we can all get along fine without all the negative input, right? Cheers! Gracie

Yahoo has lumped all English speaking people into the same big forum, the flags are purely decorative and probably to give them a cosmoploitian sophisticated look. A lot about yahoo is suspect IMO.
You are not the only person here from the UK so no need to get carried away about it. I am sure there are other forums on the internet that are exclusive to the UK if Yahoo doesnt suit.

The only thing I can figure is that, even if you are on UK/Ireland, your questions appear on the USA site. I found it here, and I'm on the US one. I checked the UK site, and found many - but not all - of the same questions there. Apparently Yahoo posts UK questions on the US site; it's not that the Yanks are going there on purpose, your questions are just showing up here on the US one.
Sorry that someone's giving you a hard time; it seems to be that way all over.

You have plenty of good answers here that explain how it all works. I just want to say that I feel everyone is welcome. I enjoy questions and answers from all over the world. I know Americans are not very popular in many parts of the world right now. You are to young to remember the 1940s. Believe me the British loved the yanks! So did the French! I guess we could stay home next time.

When you click on UK and Ireland only, that just means 'you' can only see the questions from those in the UK or Ireland. It does not mean other English speaking countries cannot answer them. We are on our USA site (not sure what your definition of Yank is) and answering questions in that site. If I see a question that says 'UK seniors' or something similar I don't answer it. Many of us do come here regularly and enjoy postings from people all over the world. If they don't tell us we generally don't know what country they are from.

Sorry I think the kids are home from school today, I don't think they saw the other question about Yanks I understand what you are saying, and I know who you are taking about, with the microchip blockhead, she has everyone blocked when she ask a question she only gets about three answers, I was thinking someday of asking the same question right after her

On Y/A anybody is allowed to post questions any where they feel is appropriate (and why ever not) It is offencive and ignorant to call Americans Yanks, why are you surprised that they take offence?(perhaps you are not)On your point about understanding words even this Proud Englishman finds your question rambling and difficult to understand.

Why are you calling folks names for? I am an American myself, I come here to the USA site to read questions and answer some. I have never gave any one an ounce of trouble at all. I will give thumbs up and give stars as well. I have never reported any one.I will give a thumbs down if they are a "potty mouth" as I don't care to see profanity. If I don't like a question or don't know anything about it, I will just go to the next question. I believe in treating other people the way I want to be treated.
This is the time of the year to be thankful, not hateful or mean. Please be nice and stop the name calling.

In answer to your question - Yahoo has badly labeled the categories...in actuality, all English speaking countries appear to fall together - e.g., UK, Ireland, US, Canada etc

It's to do with the fact that internet is a realm without borders, and in seconds we can be talking to and bouncing ideas around with people from all over the material world.
It's great.
Let's not knock such a good thing, eh?
