Shannon's brother made the HOF and 5 Pro Bowls in only 7 seasons, until he suffered a career ending injury when he was reaching his prime and after Favre's 2nd season as the starter.

Probably Favre would hold also the single season records and Sharpe would have been in the same category with Cris Carter, Tim Brown and Steve Largent as the best ever not named Jerry Rice.

The numbers would be better, but before you go saying that Favre never had receivers, consider the following...

In all of Favre's seasons, he has only played 4 years where he did not have someone who would make the pro bowl lining up at tight end or wide receiver. In those years, Favre did not make the pro bowl either.

In fact, Favre NEVER has made the pro bowl without being joined by one of his WR's or TE's.

Ironically, there have been 4 seasons where Favre did not make the pro bowl, but at least one of his wide receivers or tight ends did. One season he had 2 pro bowl wide receivers and a pro bowl tight end, and yet he still did not make the pro bowl.

Sterling Sharpe was a rare talent (one of my favorite WR's), and Favre had a revolving door of WR's, and although he never had his "Jerry Rice," Favre always had a solid number 1 wideout lining up on the field with him. There are a few QB's who were pretty damn good who cannot say the same.

I've watched every game this season except for the Titan game. The only thing the Vikings were able to do was keep pressure all day on Aaron Rodgers. Number 12 isn't the one puting the points on the board however. The Vikings didn't dominate the game because it takes all three areas to dominate. You have special teams, defense, and offense. Our offense had one good drive all game with one touchdown. We had a punt return for a touchdown and an interception for a touchdown. Aaron Rodgers recieved a good name up to week three with nobody teams like Minnesota and detroit. He is a poor decision maker and Ted Thompson may want to hang himself for letting a heroic QB go for this guy. I thought Creg Nall was a better pick for starter. I've been pulling my hair out with this guy and when he does do something right I'm like " that a boy!" Thank God for our defense and special teams or else we would be right next to detroit. The real question is, how can our offensive line be so good in 07 that we could go five wide reciever set with little worries to little protection at all? I can't put all the blame at Rodgers. It looks like they have no ambition to win anymore. I can't say anything about Grant except he's getting a late start this year. Lee, Martin, Jennings, Driver, Jones, and Nelson are very acceptable. And Nelson is making a name for himself as well. No team in this division is as good as Green Bay. WE NEED A GOOD DECISION MAKER FOR THIS TEAM!

No doubt. Even more telling is what favre's stats would look like if he played in warm weather instead of the very worst stadium for passing stats. He has over 30 more TD's away from home even though most QB's throw 55-60% of TD's at home. Playing in Green Bay has probably cost him 75 TD's at least. It has added a ton of interceptions too from balls bouncing off receiver's hands in cold weather. If Favre play under the circumstances that Joe Montana did (always great receivers, weather, defense) he would probably have 600 TD's right now.

I think when Sharpe left it improved Farves ablity as a QB.He learned how to use the whole field. When the Packers won the Super Bowl they had all types of guys that could catch the ball.Bebe,Rison, Churma,Brooks, etc.Yes having the prmire reciver might have been nice. These guys do not have the staying power in the NFL because of all the hits they take.

This could also be said for Montana early in his career when he didnt have Rice or for Brady when he didnt have Moss.
