I'm using firefox and I want to save my passwords?

Everytime I hit "remember" for hotmail and livejournal, it continues to reject me. and I don't know how to turn on autocomplete either, so typing in all of my email everytime i visit the site is just a hassle. Can anyone help me on this? I'm so new to firefox.

Passwords are under the Security setting of Options.

Auto-complete is an Add-on

in firefox go to tools>options and look at the privacy and security tabs
