No. They are not willing to pay as much as he will likely seek for a player whose offensive production is questionable relative to his salary. He is still a great defensive player, but baseball is about scoring runs, and he doesn't create offense consistently.

Unless Jones is willing to take a low contract or a single year (based on his poor performance in 2007) I don't think that the Braves will want to take a chance on 2007 being the start of a trend.

He is a buy low candidate right now.

I think the Braves would rather not pay big $ that may be necessary to keep him. Look for them to deal for a Mid-Level CF, someone like a Coco Crisp or Jerry Owens.

The Braves are not going to waste any money on him. I believe he will end up in Texas. They need a centerfielder and that might be the perfect fit.
