We have been trying to get rid of our plugged up drain in our toilet for at least an hour. Does anyone know where in the house would be the drain cleaner, so we can try to clean it that way.

If your house does not basement and your clothes washer is on the same floor, you can pour a strong liquid drain cleaner down the washer drain. You should wear goggles and gloves in case there is any splash back. If this does not work in half an hour pour about a quart of water down the drain to flush the drain cleaner through the trap, use the goggles and gloves again. This only works if the plug is not in the toilet itself. I have had success with this method.

There may or may not be a cleanout plug/cap on the main drain. You would need to trace the main piping inside the house to find it. It could also be just outside the house. Usually withing 3 feet of the foundation. If the toilet is the only thing clogged, I would rent or buy a Closet Auger to clear the toilet trap.

You may need to use a snake to go down the toilet. Did someone put something down the toilet that shouldn't be there? Otherwise, you may need to call a plumber.
Good Luck!!!

do you mean the clean-out access in the main stack? I would try a different plunger first, or a snake,
