I saw someone do it and it looked good.

(This is a serious question).

Of course it's not meant for workplace.

Is it good? What do you think?

As we are offering out our opinions on whether or not this is not only appropriate, but whether or not it would look good, all I can do here is offer my own humble opinion along with the others.

OK, well, with all the myriad fashion options available, added to the wonderfull diversity we see with those who decide upon a tract of self expression through clothing, I think it is absolutely acceptable to wear a tie inside the shirt.

I have seen ties worn in such a fashion, and it did look rather nice. I don't think a body type precludes any from wearing a tie on the inside of a shirt. I don't understand the comment about "indie" boys, or being slim or it being a white shirt and a black tie. This seems awfully limiting to me, and what is an "indie" boy? lol

Regardless of who wishes to wear a tie in such a fashion, with "fashion" being the key word here. Individuals all over the world have greatly enhanced our world communities fashion sense. Fashion is an individual choice, and each one of us has the same equal opportunity to select a current trend in fashion for our own use, or forge a new fashion that is uniquely our own, and then allow others to adopt it if they like it too.

So, by all means wear your tie inside your shirt if you like how it looks. If, for any reason when you look in the mirror, you decide you don't like that particular look after all, feel free to try on any other look you please, until you locate one you feel completely comfortable with, or which aids you in feeling you have expressed yourself as intended.

Of course, I am considered "old school", and I would say no. A tie is meant to be worn on the out side of the shirt. However, I am not a fashion cop and would not be pointing a finger at anyone. Maddy, you know I wear a uniform each day and it requires a strict military/police type look that requires a tie. But to each his/her own and what ever looks and feels good, then go for it. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

I have seen a celebrity to it- I think it was Terrence Howard. It actually just looked like an ascot- it looked kind of cool. I'd say choose a patterned tie to play up the whole ascot thing. And wear a jacket too. Go for it!

It depends on what you are wearing the tie for. If it is for a professional thing then wear it outside the shirt, it looks more professional. If you are wearing it just to look good then it would be ok.

I have seen some military men do that, but I do not see any point in it for civilians. Why bother to wear a tie, if you are only going to hide most of it?

I think it looks ok on indie boys, ONLY if its a white shirt and a skinny black tie. And only if your super slim. If neither or these criteria is involved, dont do it!
Dont know if your a guy or girl! But I dont think it looks good on a girl, cant see that working.
