Its certainly not my favourite time of year, but it is a day when everyone is polite to each other and I love church on christmas morning, and you get to show everyone how much you love them, but I hate being skint around christmas, and I hate the way religion has been taken out of the equation.

The thing about Christmas that I dislike is how commercial it's become. What happened to just spending a day with your family doing traditional things like baking or singing? Now, everyone seems to think that you have to buy your children the latest greatest technology and wake up at 5am the day after Thanksgiving to have a happy holiday. I hope that everyone can just forget about buying things for a minute and take time to sit down and hang out with their family and friends.

Christmas used to be OK., but that was when it only lasted a couple of days. Now the hype starts in October ( or earlier ) and is only about spending money. What happened to the good old-fashioned fun ?

I like Christmas, because it's a good occasion to share a good meal with my family...
But I hate it too sometimes, because Ican visit them whenever I want, and at Christmas train tiockets are expensive, and there is too much trafic jam, and in a way I feel like I HAVE TO celebrate Christmas, even if sometimes I'd like to do something else...

This year, for Christmas, I'll have to be in a city for Christmas Eve, in another place for Christmas day, and on Dec 26th I have to move again to visit another grandmother... I like to visit all those people, but I'd rather visit them during a quieter weekend....

Anyway, I hope you get it...

Not too sure that I'd use the hate word. Christmas over the last few years has associated itself with family deaths and tragedies and is no longer remembered as a happy time of year.
I think the advertising hype associated with it is way over the top and getting worse year on year, but what the heck.....if you like it good on you.
Have a nice time.

Noo I love it!

I hate the stress of never having enough money, when to start shopping, navigating through crowded shopping centres, everything sold out, where to go on Xmas day etc.

But I love the spirit of the season.

I love Christmas. I'm not a Christian, but it's just nice to see the decorations and carol singers etc. But what I hate about it is how shops blatantly use this to sell rubbish that people don't need. And why are people so rude at Christmas?

Christmas is a time for all good men to loathe their neighbours and any other sad B******** who try to shove religion down our throats. Hate it! My god( no pun intended) it should be banned. Even the date is wrong. It's actually the celebration of the birth of Artemis ( whoever he was) which has been hijacked for christian's to get a knees up on the cheap and boost their flagging numbers. BAH, HUMBUG.

I love the family & friends together time, but hate the corporate spending side. Last year was awful, because I was working at a retail store over the holidays.

This year I'm thankfully not, though I've also moved to the east coast, and won't be able to get home to spend the holiday with my parents. So that will be sad, as my sister & her family won't get there either, and it'll be the first Christmas my parents will spend without either of their kids being home.
