You don't need a gift, but bringing one is always thoughtful and classy. Personalized gifts are best. I like things babies can't outgrow, like personalized signs for the nursery. They have nice ones here: http://www.mysweetandsour.com/

I totally understand the reason why they are celebrating their daughters "monthday", but to invite people to the dinner explaining that they're celebrating her birthday is a little over the top.
It's entirely your call on whether to bring a gift or not. Something small and well thought out will make the best impression (cause that's all you'd be accomplishing by bringing a gift). A picture frame with a promisory note to give them a picture of the celebration to fill the frame would probably go over really well. Just be sure to bring your camera with you.

I'm confused as to how turning 2 months actually qualifies as a birthday? A birthday only occurs once a year, after a whole year has passed from when the person was actually born. In French, it is an "anniversaire," the "anni" part being derived from the Latin word for "year." (Think annual.) I find this to be a bit odd, but if they didn't have a baby shower that you attended, I would get some nice clothes.

whatever the situation is for having a 2 month "birthday" is, it's special :) if you feel you should give a gift get something small like maybe a $10 gift card to target or walmart or somewhere else pratical. otherwise i'm sure if you walk in without a gift no one would even care its about celebrating life not who has the best gift.

Personally, I would be tempted to buy a gift just in case everyone else that's been invited has.
Why not try a personalised name print from FrameMyName - I've ordered from them before and the gifts have always been very well received.

They are having birthday party for a 2 month old? Anyways, I guess I would buy clothes or diapers something that the mom will probably need fro the baby. Good luck and congrats!

Start her a college fund.....get everyone to contribute a few dollars, then as you all celebrate the milestones in her life, people can donate to it. just be sure you let everyone know that you are doing this and you would like their help also.
Birthdays, Xmas, Easter.....
Diapers are always needed, wipes, powder, everyday things a baby needs. They grow so fast for clothes.
My kids are half Vietnamese and we celebrated their births at 2 months also...it is a custom.....my babys always recieved money from the people that attended. That is why I suggested a colllege fund!

your birthday comes once a yr, so a gift would be suitable if the child was turning 1yr but given the child is only 2 months old, there is no need to purchase a gift and if you feel obligated to buy her a rattle or something.
