Go volunteer at a food bank or shelter....go wrap toys at the Toys for Tots....by making someone else's Christmas a little brighter will also make yours brighter.
Good luck and happy holidays.

I would think that canceling Christmas is something that is near impossible, it (the holiday season) engulfs us all, there really is no way of avoiding it. You can however choose not to celebrate it. Understand that around these days people's spirit seams to be kinder. Help them understand your current situation and I think you will find them very understanding. People put way too much pressure on Christmas and themselves, it has become too big for the worse. That being said I love this time of year, days off from work, drinking and eating with good friends. Whats not to like? Good luck with your situation and keep a positive frame of mind.

Christmas is a good time to get out and meet people. you don't need a lot of money at Christmas , that's the whole point. remember why we celebrate it. so have a lovely Christmas. it's only 1 more birthday, so treat it like you would any birthday. X

That's too bad that you're not happy this holiday season. Do you have any other single friends who are in the same boat as you, that you could hang out with? I believe some movie theatres are open on Christmas day. Or rent a couple movies that you've been wanting to see, to watch Christmas day.

Don't buy your parents a gift for sure. Get/make something for anyone that you really care about even if it is just a card. Put some fake money into the card--like coupons to hang out and make dinner for someone.

Nobody can cancel chrixmas, but you can choose whom you hang out with for the day. Go to friend's parents'.

You can cancel Christmas. Christmas is about being together with the ones you love. If you don't feel like being around anybody, stay home and be miserable by yourself. No need in making everyone else miserable!

Oh, I'm sorry you've got the X-mas blues, sugar! I was in a similar down and out situation a few years ago: outs with fam, just lost a baby, broke up with ex, loser job....wine and cheese please! What got me through was volunteering, no joke. I volunteered at my local Salvation Army, I made food baskets in a warehouse, and sorted the food, sorted clothes that were worth keeping, then elevated to doing secretarial duties for the Commander. It was so worth while! I had something to look forward to. Despite how I perceived my crummy life at the time, I saw folks who were far worst off than I ever was! I made good friends along the way, as well. Beat the blues, girl! Hang in there, it's bound to get better. Don't bother about the gifts, either. Many blessings to you!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You can't cancel Christmas its going to happen!!! You just don't have to take part this year.
Although you could try helping those who are worse off than you by help out at a shelter etc - and trust me there are people worse off than you.

oh my gosh, Christmas is NOT about the presents or how much money you have or whatever, that is so unimportant compared to the real meaning of Christmas: Jesus's Birthday! Just know that you are celebrating the birth of our savior, and it is absolutely not about the whole overrated Christmas present part of Christmas....people get way to wrapped up in thinking that is the real meaning, and they forget what is most important!

I feel the same as you. I don't really like christams either. Its to much pressure. I have divorced parents and so does my man so we have to travel back and forth all day. Not to mention who freaking knows what to buy for people you only see once a year.

I wish I could cancel but I have kids and thats the only fun part about the holidays is Santa Claus for them.

My favorite holiday is Halloween, you don't have to buy gifts, you dress up and get free candy. What could be better?!
