Why Are Federal Cases Tried In The Same States In Which The Crimes Are Committed?

They are usually tried within the Federal District in which they occur. I think the Federal districts roughly correspond to states. Although there might be a few that encompass more than one state.

Besides being tried in the district where they occur - it is easier to hold the trial in a location convenient to the prosecutors, witnesses, lawyers etc.
