-- I'm currently a night shift guard dog at the local junk yard.

Yeah. For one, change of scenery (ies), doggie. What are you guarding a junk yard for? As a seeing eye dog, however, you get to cross streets, you get to pull the one holding the leash with whatever strength you prefer, people would admire you! "Ooh, what a good dog!" Who's admiring you in that junk yard now? The rusts?
P.S.
Just don't forget to demand for hazard pay and benefits. And yes, vac times with pay, state your medical allergies and such (you might have become sensitive to the sun after years of being a night shigt guard dog so you gotta tell that employer, you're only going out there at night).

What's wrong with your current job? Too much work and too many demands? An overbearing boss? Lousy pay and never getting promoted despite all your hard work? Before you make such a hasty decision (and I don't know how much you intend to make as a "seeing eye-dog") you need to weigh the disadvantages of your current job, and see if and how you can resolve them.

Just make sure you stay off the Booze and I can get you a Very Good Job with a 120-year old lady that lives down the road from me. She's mean as Hell, and maybe you could keep her straight.

Yes you should. Just imagine all the fun you could have walking your master into walls or out into traffic. Kindof fun to think about chasing a cat while the master holds onto the handle too.

Well, you will get some extra perks if you do that like being able to pee where ever you want as your owner wont be able to see it.
