I had an ultra sound today; I am 5 weeks pregnant (7 weeks from last menstrual period). In the ultra sound there was no heartbeat of the fetus, neither any organ. In the afternoon, suddenly I had pain and bleeding. The doctor said I have to go for a blood test. I am so worried, is the fetus dead?
Is there anybody who has experienced the same thing? Did you have a normal pregnancy after?

I'm sorry to say that by 7 weeks they really should have been able to detect a heartbeat via ultrasound. But it's not impossible that it could have been missed, just pretty unlikely.

Hopefully the blood tests will show good news, that your hormone levels are rising and maybe if you have another scan they will find the heartbeat this time.

I wish you the best of luck, but if things don't work out you have my sincerest condolences. Many of us have experienced early miscarriages. It's painful and disappointing, but there's always time to try again. Good luck to you.

Well depends, in my pregnancy the heartbeat didn't show up until my 8-9 weeks sonogram. Also, if you say you're bleeding, are you Bleeding bleeding or just spotting. The vaginal sonogram can make you spot for a couple of days, but it should be very very light. If it's like a full blown period, check into the hospital now. If it's light, don't stress yourself out even more because stress could lead you to a miscarriage also.

It is very possible you are miscarrying. While doctors usually do a D&C, it's not necessary as long as all the uterine contents are expelled. I didn't get one, didn't have any contents retained, and am now pregnant nine months after my miscarriage. Do ask your doctor if he know any counseling groups that deal with pregnancy loss.

I have included some links to help you.

Also, if you are working, you have the right to take time off to recuperate, both physically and emotionally. Please don't feel guilty. In the vast majority of miscarriages, nothing can be done to prevent them.

It sounds like you have had a miscarriage and will have to have a procedure called a DNC....that is where they clean the uterus from any debris.....My heart goes out to you at this time, I know it is a hard thing to endure. There is light at the end of the tunnel though...I had a miscarriage when my son was 5 yrs old...2 yrs later I had a healthy beautiful baby girl....now he is 17 and she is 9. Hopefully thee is nothing wrong and the next time you conceive it will be a healthy pregnancy.

I had a miscarriage final 365 days so had greater scans as quickly as I fell pregnant returned. My first test grew to become into at 6 weeks and the sonographer ought to be sure a yolk sac yet no longer something. I had yet another test 2 weeks later and there grew to become right into a foetal pole, a heartbeat and the yolk. She grew to become into waiting to be sure that i grew to become into surely 8 weeks and a pair of days pregnant. This meant that between weeks 6-8 the foetus had grown adequate to enable them to come upon the guts and sophistication it as a practicable being pregnant. i grew to become into instructed that many times it grew to become into attainable to be sure the heart beat earlier besides the incontrovertible fact that it grew to become into now commonplace for it to no longer coach until eventually 8 weeks. Did you have a vaginal test? I doubt an belly you could actually come upon lots so early on. protecting my palms crossed for you x
