I could use some help building my website. I am trying to build one using many different offline programs, but with the same result. Used Publisher, PageBreeze, NVU and some others. I can build the page, but when I try to upload it to either my Freespaces account, or a couple of other accounts, everything uploads except my pictures. I get the box with the red "x" in the upper left corner. I've tried uploading the pix also, in case that was the problem. No luck. I haven't moved the pix location, so that's not it either. No matter what program I use, same result. Everything uploads but the pix. Can anyone help??? Thank you!!!

This usually happens because the "Links" to your images are incorrect. It happens because of "where you have them on your local machine!"
Your local machine will, with all these programs, generate a link like

Well that WONT be the path to the image on your WEBHOST ever!

What I will tell you, is to make a directory called "images" within the same directory your web page is being saved into! Move all your images into that directory.
The programs can then create a link like
This is a "relative link" in other words the image directory is "relative to" the web page directory. This WILL WORK on your WEB HOST as long as you move both the page and the image directory to the server. * (You may need to check the programs and be sure they are not adding the "full" path - called absolute path, to your images. If the C:/ is included.. your images won't work.)

You can also put them in the exact same directory - not the best idea if you wish to keep images organized but for small sites works ok. Then the HTML will read
the images will then need to be loaded into the SAME directory on your webserver!

SO check the path, just right click on one of the "red x's" on your web site. Read the PATH that it is looking for and make yourself a note. Then change that image path to the correct place on your web server!

This happened a lot to me until I started being very watchful of where on my LOCAL machine these images were located and realized.. my local machine isn't the web server. The web server will have a "different path/directory" than my machine.

Hope that helps -- good luck

I suggest hosting your pics somewhere like photobucket, and then change the source to reflect the photobucket (or wherever) location, see if the pictures show up.

I wonder if when using the app, it's trying to find the pics located on your local PC.

i suggest you stick to one program and go for it. if you are an expert in joining programs then you wouldn't have such a problem. you might want to do it from scratch even, like real coding.

go to the link, it will help you design one easy, and solve most of your technical problems.

good luck.
