It's not hard work to be serious, it's hard work to stay serious for a extended period of time.
Eventually the tension gets to everybody, and it's just better for everybody to lighten up a little and have a good laugh despite the fact things are snafu.
I find people function better if they dare relax and let 'control' slip if only for a minute.. Even when it's probably not warranted.

Its so hard work to be serious because if we are known as a joker we cant be taken seriously. then when the time comes to be your age and act serious people think twice about you.
