Is America lacking direction, or is it just lacking leadership?

America lack a sense of itself, that's all. We see ourselves as our political affiliations more than we see ourselve as part of a nation. Read some of the rabid, divisive posts here. It proves my point far better than I ever could.

I'm not sure what America you are living in, but the one I am living in is very good. Let's examine the reasons.

1) Economy. All signs are pointing toward a great economy to close out 2007 and enter 2008. Unemployment is low and jobs are plentiful. Open a newspaper and you will see pages of jobs just waiting there. Also, the stock market is very high and astute investors are making bundles. Business profits are surging. Citizens personal incomes are at all time high levels. All of this makes for a great economy.
2) Safety. We have had zero attacks since 9/11. We are taking the fight straight into the terrorists homeland. Although it will take time, we will eventually prevail over them.
3) Morals and values. We need to be a little better in this department. America is based upon good Christian beliefs and we need to further strengthen them. There are many things eating away at the piliars of our society, such as drugs and alcohol and pornography. These need to be reigned in. TV and media needs to be cleansed. Abortion is still legal. I am sure President Bush or the next GOP President in 2008 will further install morals and values.

All of these issues undeniably show America is strong and heading in the right direction.

We are definately lacking a FOR THE PEOPLE leadership with the Republican Leadership we have now. Our President is destroying the middle class, pushing for the rich and making them richer, simply by the tax cuts he gave them in 2001. He is for the higher costs of oil, against Healthcare for the largest part of the USA, sinking our Social Security System, by using that reserve for Iraq or the Military or just as a general fund. Not following the laws of immigration that are already on the books. Not stepping up to the plate on issues he should be such as the 2 border patrol agents in Solitary confinement in prison, for doing their job properly, and letting or allowing the schmuck drug dealer off the hook, which by the way was just rearrested on drug smuggling charges. Did Pres Bush step up to the plate....on these issues.....and Pardon these 2 men in Prison....NO....Now he is thinking of a war with Iran, and Venezula, was thinking of a war with Communist China, also, Pakistan is a huge problem....Now which direction can we go....I see only but UP with a New Leader, and NEW Congress with balls, and intestinal fortitude for the American People. ALL OF US...not the selected RICH....or continuing to pay the CEO'S for the outsourcing of American jobs the disgusting outlandish rates of pay they receive to destroy the USA. Pres Bush destroyed us by the FREE TRADE AGREEMENT.....and then there is the TOXIC stuff coming from CHINA....you didn't notice how he STOPPED that to protect us.....HE DIDN'T....the products are still arriving, unchecked.....So let us DUST OFF and get back to the Original United States ideals, in God, Country, and equality.......ditch all the crapola that is stopping the good of the USA and get back to what we truly are supposed to be......

What are you talking about? What hole? I'm genuinely sitting here thinking what hole that might be. The budget deficit that the republicans created is rapidly decreasing. We'll be back in a surplus within the next couple of years thanks to the Bush tax cut which stimulated the economy which increased revenue. Iraq is going better now than anyone dreamed. Unemployment has been at record lows for an arguably record period. My business is doing great. In fact I'm considering expansion, but can't find the folks to do it with.

As for America's direction, since when has government set OUR direction. I don't follow government. They follow us! We lead them, ya big ape. Where did you ever get the idea that our government was in charge of this great nation? They are public servants. Guess who the public is.

It is lacking in intelligence and belief in government because people are not involved in politics but rarely and depend upon TV and radio for their viewpoint. The media political broadcasters and massive media outlets have created a population ill suited for Democracy.

If things are going this way America will start all over again, only to fall and eat dust again.

Survival is a must.......as long as Creator the sun and the earth give us another day to do so in.!.......Maybe a little of both ...........Leadership.....maybe that one needs to be defined so that we are all in agreement about it.

We have no choice-the neo-con chickenhawks who have screwed this country up-will retreat to some corner with all the money they have stolen-and linger for quite some time. But the majority of Americans have seen what the idiotic Bush adm. has done-we can vote-we can change.....
