I suppose they have adjusted this spell check for internet pourpouses, and as everyone is well awear, lol is used SO much on the net!
When im typing something in word it still picks up lol as being "misspelt" so i supose they have just adjusted it for the sheer fact they know everyone will be using it...
what ever happend to good old ha ha ha?
(Also, it annoys me that these days lol is just like, that was funny but i didnt actually laugh out loud, and ROFL is like i laughed out loud so hard but because that was so funny but i didnt actually roll on the floor and laugh)
We should be using the acronims for what they really mean! Blah....

Simply put, because "lol" isn't in the dictionary file which the spell-check programme uses. If you use "lol" frequently enough and you're a good enough speller otherwise that this is typically the only problem slowing down spell-checking your replies, drop a line to the Yahoo Answers administrator requesting it be added to the dictionary file.

Its slang. Its not a real word, so its not in the dictionaries that are programmed in to run a spell check.
Some programs may recognize LOL since they will know its an acronym, but not all of them.
Its another example of the cultural and educational elite cutting out the common person by denying them their form of communication. (j/k)

Because lol is not a word but an acronym.
Because it has not been entered into Yahoo's dictionary.
Why does the spell check not recognise English words but want me to write in a foreign language all the time?
Maybe the spell check is a tiny American Gremlin as pedantic as I?

because of the fact spell checking classes are digital variations of dictionaries. And dictionaries are written through previous men in ivory towers who've a tendency to be slightly haughty approximately on the instant's internet slang. That being reported, I wager that's going to likely be interior the dictionaries in 50 years, whilst on the instant's cool youngsters are previous and function moved into those towers. that's going to possibly substitute right into a known verb, and that i ought to think of the spellng gets "regularized" slightly as quickly as the unique which means of the acronym fades: I lole, you lole, he loles, I loled, I easily have loled. (basically the way we write ok as "ok" on the instant.)
