VERY good question, since I think this applies to both the wife AND the husband! Sometimes that happens after a baby is born and their are complications and the wife doesn't get her probably weight right away, and sometimes it happens when you BOTH are happy and contented and cook and eat together. But it has to be what's right for that couple and not what their friends/family think they should look like. Life doesn't look like people who live on Wisteria Lane you know... not real life anyway...
So for me, the answer is no.
EDIT: to Hotstuff: you couldn't be more wrong that there are less women who care how they look once they are married. In fact from what I've seen we care MORE about our looks and keeping our love spontaneous and alive! Someone sold you a bill of goods honey and I'd take it back if I were you! Because you really can have it all... husband who adores you, children if that is your plan, career and home and hearth complete with a dog and cat. Oh, that's MY life!!! See... you can have one too!!! All you have to do is reach out and take it... really... it's there... can't your fingers feel it?

I didn't let myself go, per say. I ate more because I had to start cooking every single day. When I was single I rarely ever ate, it seemed. When I was single, I could come and go as I liked. When I got married, that changed too. I gained a little bit of weight, but exercise helped me lose that weight. That and stress. lol As far as makeup and stuff, I've never been the kind of person who wore a lot of makeup. Honey, I got married when I was 22, I'm now in my mid 30's. Time itself takes a toll on everyone. I'll never look like I did when I was 22. You know what I'm saying? But I do take good care of myself.

Yes. For some reason we become comfortable, and complacent. Yes to all of your questions. I do the same thing. It is only human I guess. You and your husband need to get out and shake it up a bit. It feels good to get dressed up and go out once in a while. It helps break up the monotony of everyday married life. After all you probably work too, and on your days off you don't feel like dressing up or wearing make up. And you don't feel like going anywhere because you have been in the rat race all week long. Also you and your better half are comfortable with each other. Like I said go out and shake it up a bit. Maybe that will help u feel better. The eating thing is boredom, and probably nervous energy. You my girl are in a rut and need to get out of the house a little. I am going through the same thing.

Still cared about my appearance, but did gain more weight. Didn't do this on purpose, just happened because I was happy. I eat when I am happy.

Certainly not! I take as much care about how I look as I did before I got married. I want to keep myself looking good for my own self esteem as well as for my husband.

Well, there are some women are not caring their looks enough after marriage because they thought it doesn't matter at all now. But, they were wrong.. WHY? because this is the beginning of mystery of your relationship...lol....so, if i were you, you should take care of yourself / appearance more than anything else, so that your husband will not going to play around...hehhehehhehe......So, stay as sexy as you are babe!
