It is the same ones that are there every day. No offence but is it because they don't like their own site, only asking.

People that are seniors are the same everywhere and I enjoy hearing from all of them ,including our friends in UK. I'm in Canada and if there is a Q pertinent to UK ,I don't answer it. We are all English speaking which is the criteria for this site.

We enjoy the Seniors section and we don't care if those seniors are from the UK, America, Australia, Canada or Timbuctoo for that matter. Seniors are seniors no matter where their country of origin or where they live.
There's too much discrimination in this world without one section of seniors against another. So come on! Embrace the different countries and their seniors and be united together.

I didn't know there were different sites for different countries. I thought all the sites were open to everyone. Don't we just click what language we want? I don't know where everyone is from, just a few. There are people from Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, Canada, and the U.S. I don't know about others.

EDIT: I went to the bottom of the page and clicked on United States. It sent me right back here.

Does it really matter where a person is from? Don't you think the point is that we have a dialogue going? I think it's great that I can debate anything from politics to flower arranging with people from the other side of the world while sitting in my home here in London, don't you?
Let's not forget either, that Yahoo is an American company!

No, I think they are on here, as they speak the English language, and they are more than welcome. It's like me trying to go the the China Q&A and answering questions. It's not going to happen. Some times it is hard to comprehend their countrys sayings. And how many pounds in a dollar? But other than that they live and experience the same as us and it is fun to hear from other foreign countries. The more the merrier I say.

No...but what are "yanks". First I've heard that expression. I hadn't noticed that it mattered a hoot who was on here as long as I can read the responses, since I don't speak or read any language other than English.

I just got off work and am totally clueless to what this question implies.I log in to Yahoo. Go to Answers. And, I get to the "seniors" section. What is my "own site"? Sure, I live in the USA, and my computer is set up for English, but alot of times, I cannot even tell where some of the other members are from unless they mention it in their answers. We are here every day because we share a mutual friendship, and it is a good way of checking in with one another. What does "yanks" have to do with anything?!!

I didn't know that SENIORS was a LIMEY site. Guess I missed that in my Y/A contract.
What is 'their own site'? Care to explain?
Maybe it's OUR YANK site and YOU'RE the outsider. hmmmm?

It seems to me that there is a higher level of activity on Yahoo Answers among USA users in most categories, so they will be answering questions more often. You can only choose your site in terms of looking at questions asked, not answers, as I'm sure you know.
I think it only matters though with questions that relate to a specific country, things like pensions, housing, law, shopping, etc. and then it's best to indicate which country you live in when you're asking or answering.

Of course we're takin' over, didn't you notice dat we speakin' American here, not English?

Dam* Yankees.... Go WHITE Sox!

Actually, unless someone puts it into their profile where they're from, how do you know? Most don't, so I haven't a clue where some of these people live. I'm proud to be a "Yank" but it's only because my ancestors couldn't find enough potatoes in Ireland to eat some time back.

So, don't take it personal. I could be in China but just SAY I live in CA. Never know......
