No, that would be a very bad policy. Clinton didn't even ignore them, he made sure the UN didn't act to stop them.

No. And when you say WE, who do you mean? They world? The US. And what determines an atrocity? Democrats wanted Turkey condemmed for something that happened in 1915 but they ignore what Saddam did prior to his removal. And there's only so much the US can do.
Personally I think the UN should be doing a lot more than they are doing. Why should the US do more of the job of the UN than the UN does.

Your words assume that usa is a nice country that helps ppl in trouble for FREE!!!
Thats not true,
usa dont help anyone unless it will benefit its interests a lot more than what the help will cost.
Actually the usa can practice atrocities & genocides itself against innocent ppl just cause it will benefit from it,
Ex:1-The palastinian ppl r facing israeli cruelty,brutality & massacress on a daily basis since 1948 ,and the usa never said a word against that,actually it defends israel in the SC & UN and uses its VITO to prevents any resolutions that holds israel responsible for its crimes against humanity in palastine!!!
why? cause usa is not interested in the palastinians but it have a lot of interest in israel,so it doesnt mind that armless & innocent palastinians die with israeli bullets .
Ex2-The usa is involving too much in the Darfure conflict in Sudan,and leading a worldwide campain for this issue and have the intention to get involved militarly !!!
why? sure its not cause usa cares for the sudanees ppl who dies there,but cause it have a lot of interests in the sudanees OIL...
Human rights ,democratic,,,etc r all just holow words thats used by usa as excuses to justify its crimes.

Yes. The US is not the world's police force. The UN should take care of those matters. That's what we pay them for.
