Oh how I can remember many many years ago now when I was a boy!! my first job was delivering Milk for the local farm. We used to go out in all weather doing this job and it's something I enjoyed and miss very much. My mother used to always wrap me up warm because in them days you only had the coal fire in the family room. What was your first job, do you still do it? or is it something you hated very much?

You take good care now,
I'm 76 years old and wishing you all the best.

My first official job was working at a car wash when I was in high school but several years before that I would go out with my Dad and do landscaping and gardening work during the summer. I'm 54 years old now and always or at least nearly always have had a good work ethic. I actually enjoyed working most of the time even when I was yonger and just like you, my Momma would also make sure I was warm and had something to eat. She is still going strong today at 88 and of course very dear to my heart. All the best to you sir and Happy Thanksgiving!

My first job was in a factory that made envelopes for cards/bills etc. Bugs would fly in, land in the gum and end up being crushed in the rollers that transfers the gum to the paper (the part people lick to seal the envelope) From then on i have never licked an envelope, but i often wonder if that the reason they taste the way they do!

I don't do the job now, but when i did i enjoyed it very much x

My first job was washing up in a restaurant, I was a whizz at getting the dishes and cutlery through and out again for the servery, quickly and more importantly sparkling clean, but it was terrible for my hands. Then I was 'promoted' to waitress and soon learnt the art of flirting to get bigger tips. I actually enjoyed that job, great friends, a lot of nice regular customers and no responsibility as such. You never 'took it home with you', such were the carefree times of teenaged life.

Hey Alfred!

I am 34. My first job was when I was 15 - I worked in a sports shop in Oxford Circus, called Cobra Sports. Cobra Sports is no longer in business, at least not under that name.

I fancied the pants off one of my colleagues at the store but alas he didnt feel the same (sob!)

My very first job was at an hairdressers on a Saturday before I left school, I so loved that job and really wanted to be an hairdresser, unfortunately I was allergic to some of the chemicals and lotions they used so had to give it up.

Working in WH Smiths on the book department, I loved that job. I was good at it too, I used to have people that would only come and see me because I knew exactly what I was talking about, especially on a Saturday, my manager didn't like it so much at first because he was convinced that they were friends and family. Until someone from his family ignored him and spoke directly to me

i used to have to baby sit just to have to put diapers on my lil girl, and i may be young but i was raised old fashioned, people look at me funny when i talk about having to break ice out of the creek to wash clothes in a wringer washer and that was when me and my husband first got married when i was 19 (im 31 now)we had it rough then.we went and got some baby calves just for fun to raise (not for meat they were my babies) ,we didnt have anything but a antenna to watch tv off of but it makes u able to stop and and smell the roses once in a while ,i was alot happier then ,we may live better but now we' ve got twice the bills to worry about.and now i dont seem to have the time for the simple things in life also my sheets where way brighter back when i used that old wringer washer
