The flame, to me, represents the heat that burns in life, transforming our every moment (the candle) with it's intensity. As I stand back and admire the candle with it's beautiful flickering flame, I can see the change that occurs and the beauty revealed as it slowly burns down to nothing but a solid puddle of molten wax. That heat is gone once the fire is out.

Every time I light a candle, my heart sees a particular soul on the flame breathing a life different from mine. It is the soul of the one I'm offering my prayers for. And as its smoke goes up the air, I'm thinking that this soul is reaching far out to God.
Yes, this is what the flame of the candle silently tells me.

It represents ETERNAL ... for me? I just touch the flame and not bother to burn the candle at both ends.

The physical LIGHT (FLAME) of the burning candle represents both intellectual ILLUMINATION and Spirit LUMINOSITY to me.
If the flame were a perfect bright orange ellipsoid of seven units tall by six units wide, it would represent the pure Spirit Luminosity of God, both above (Transcendent) and within (Immanent) you and me and all human Truth-lovers. This 7 by 6 pattern is also the perfect shape of infinite Paradise; the Eternal Home of the Infinite I AM (GOD) and our certain Destiny.
Happy Thanksgiving !

A candle, like all light, lives. Depends on how one interprets it.
