It would make more sense if it went up the same as the fuel price each year.

It has been £200 since 2000. When it was introduced in 1997 it was only £20. People over 80 get £300.

Just to put the record straight in case anyone wants to start doing actual sums!

It might be necessary as well to take into account possible energy saving measures over the last seven years, e.g. maybe there have been improvements in home insulation, and there are more energy saving appliances being used etc, so that rises in fuel prices are not the only factor to look at in working out its current value.

Here in Ireland it is €18 a week for 29 weeks between October and April. That is a total of €522, or roughly £340, give or take a bit. A lot of people will be warm this winter.

It grew to become into in the fee selection it merely did no longer get plenty press coverage. See the link below to the BBC internet site. they are taking away the guy made boosters to the money that the Labour occasion delivered in to conceal the years at modern and after an election in a bid to "purchase" the grey vote. extreme climate money look as though they are going to be larger besides the undeniable fact that it gets complicated whilst they initiate speaking on the subject of the standards for fee so I no longer completely clean on that subject.
